Appeals allowed and dismissed, by inspector.

Each appeal is decided by an inspector appointed on behalf of the Secretary of State. This table counts how each inspector has decided appeals in the archive, and how their record on a particular issue compares with the average for all inspectors.

Read with care. Inspectors are allocated cases by type, location and expertise, so their caseloads differ. A high or low allowed share is not a measure of quality and does not show how an inspector will decide a future appeal. Shares need a reasonable number of cases to mean much, which is why a minimum applies. In the live version, names are shown as published by the Planning Inspectorate.
